Aviation Flight
& Operations

Welcome to our Aviation Flight & Operations Program,

Located at Central Nine, this program provides students with a broad-based introduction to the field of aviation in partnership with Ivy Tech. Flight and Operations is the ideal program for students interested in becoming pilots and could lay the ground work for careers in Aviation Maintenance. Course activities include: familiarization with aviation technology, a historic overview of the aviation industry, exploration of the current aviation environment, as well as aviation careers and employment opportunities.

High School Credit:

5528 Aviation Operations 

5524 Aviation Flight 

Four credits per semester. Counts as a Directed Elective or Elective for the General, Core 40, Core 40 with Academic Honors and Core 40 with Technical Honors diplomas.

Dual Credit Courses

Fall:  AVIT 111 (2 credits), AVIT 120 (6 credits) – total of 8 credits
Spring:  AVIT 135 (3 credits) and AVIT 208 (3 credits) – total of 6 credits
Students earn 14 credits in one year through Ivy Tech.

Dual Credit Institution

June 4th, 5th, and 6th 8am- 11:30am


Central Nine is hosting summer camps this June for students who will be in 7th or 8th grade during the fall 2019 school year!

Students can choose to participate in two different camp experiences. Contact cvonderwell@central9.k12.in.us for questions.

Hours: 8am – 11:30am each day
Cost : $35 per student
