Kathy Franklin

 Instructional Assistant

“I am an Illinois State University Grad with a BS in Information Sciences,  English minor.  I’ve worked as a data storage tech, a middle school Librarian, a newspaper reporter, a substitute teacher, and most recently, used the Student Management System ARK for 15 years (a user for 5 and a support rep for 10.)

Working at C9 has been satisfying for me.  Since I’m not an official teacher, I can focus on the students themselves rather than the technical skills they’re learning.  I get to say “Good Morning” to a fine bunch of young men and women each day, and the rest of the time I put to use the Mom skills I’ve learned over the years.

The proud Mom of three boys, I was active in Cub and Boy Scouts for nearly 15 years and now I’m a very happy Gramma!  I’ve lived in four different states (Illinois, California, Florida and now Indiana) and have visited all 50.  I love to take pictures, to travel, crochet, read and bake with my favorite recipe being Oatmeal Cookies with Pecans and dark chocolate chips (ask me for the recipe!)”
