I received my nursing degree from Lakeview and graduated second in my class with Scholastic Achievement award. I was also selected as the Charline Grygiel Award recipient. This is awarded based on the selection by the school's faculty for outstanding proficiency in nursing. I have 40 years of experience in the health care industry as a registered nurse. My nursing career has included working experience in E.R., Medical-Surgical, Obstetrics, and School Health. As an educator, my experience has included teaching Health Sciences at Central Nine, beginning my 10th year. Prior to that I was a Health Careers vocational instructor in Paris, Illinois for 5 years. I have received certification training as a Nurse Aide Program Director through IU School of Nursing. I am certified as a BLS/First Aid instructor, received certification in Tuberculosis Education, and Lamaze instructor for Prenatal Education, and currently hold a R.N. license in IL and in IN.

I am a member of the ANA, IACTE, ISTA and HOSA advisor. I have been recognized by M.S.D. Warren Township as support staff of the year and as the Indianapolis Star Nurse of the year nominee.

One of my favorite quotes about teaching is
"Tell me and I'll forget, Teach me and I'll remember, Include me and I'll learn!"
